Scottsdale-based education as a service company aligns with talent solutions giant to train and upskill professionals for lasting careers in the technology industry
SCOTTSDALE, Az. – Nov. 13, 2018 – Woz U, Steve Wozniak’s education as a service company that transforms how individuals are educated with personalized, tech-based career training, announced today a pilot program with CareerCircle, a company funded by Allegis Group, the global leader in talent solutions. CareerCircle takes a candidate-first approach to connecting talent with partners that can enable their skills growth and access to new career opportunities. Woz U’s Full-Stack Web Development, Cyber Security and Data Science programs will be offered to talent in Baltimore, Chicago, Boston and Charlotte through immersive, instructor-led and self-paced online courses at CareerCircle.com. Plans for a full rollout, with additional courses and more skill sets, are set for later in 2019.
Aimed at solving the skills gap problem, the partners are developing new ways to create talent on a micro and macro level. Users can enroll immediately to access Woz U’s educational content and delivery system for tech-based career training courses, as well as navigate the digital career experience by aligning their career goals with CareerSkilling™, mentoring and coaching opportunities.
“Allegis Group is renowned for delivering people-powered solutions to advance business success and solve nearly every workforce challenge,” said Chris Coleman, president of Woz U. “We are aligning with their CareerCircle program to support the professional development of individuals for positions that are in-demand and are the future workforce in the technology industry. Woz U’s career training courses will enhance job seekers’ knowledge so they can become stronger candidates for tech-based positions.”
Technology employers will be able to tap newly qualified and adaptable professionals who complete coursework in the online educational setting. As an additional benefit, the growth of the workforce will continue to rise through the partnership by granting individuals the opportunity to build their tech-based proficiency in areas sought-after by businesses.
“The number of available jobs continues to exceed the number of job seekers in the United States,” says Neil Bryson, Senior Vice President of Digital Transformation at Allegis Group. “Such conditions, coupled with demographic shifts reshaping the makeup of the workforce, non-traditional work models gaining prominence, and demands for emerging skills creating a talent shortage, make this the perfect time to partner with an innovative leader such as Woz U. Collectively, we’ll be able to lead workers to the right opportunities and give them skills that are in-demand so they can secure technology careers they may have previously only dreamed about. While information technology is a natural starting point, we will expand our CareerSkilling™ initiatives into non-IT skill sets, like health care, quickly to help support the demand for new talent in the gig economy.”
The focus of the pilot program is to ensure an optimal user experience, validate the proper value metrics and identify opportunities to expand course offerings based on known demands for specific skills. Course offerings are open to workers in North America.
