Now in their 14th year, the Pride of Bracknell Forest Awards was established to celebrate achievements of the community, in areas from charity through to sports and education. Allegis Group's head office in EMEA is based in Bracknell and it is therefore natural that our business focuses much of its charitable activity is this local region.
Allegis Group EMEA was nominated for the award by one of our charity partners, involve - a local support organisation for voluntary, community and faith groups in Bracknell Forest and the Wokingham Borough - in recognition of our volunteering efforts. Being recognised by one of our partners in this way, makes this award all the more special.
Our Bracknell-based Support team worked closely with involve on numerous occasions across 2018. Partnering with them meant we were able to support several local charities including Berkshire Women's Aid, where we helped to renovate gardens and a house used as a refuge for women who'd experienced domestic abuse and violence. We also worked with several other charitable organisations throughout the year where we renovated community centres and halfway houses for young men looking to rebuild their lives.
The awards ceremony took place last Friday, 15 March at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Jenny Clark-Whittle, Director of HR and Jemma Ryan, Subvendor Supervisor, both attended.
Jemma said, "We've made it a priority to ensure we are doing our part to give back to the local community.
We were delighted to find out involve had nominated us for the 'Business of the Year' Award at the Pride of Bracknell Forest Awards.
It was an excellent evening with great entertainment, including a guest appearance from Debbie McGee. The event celebrates local heroes, charities and businesses and winning the award was a real honour."
Congratulations to our Support colleagues in Bracknell for your well deserved win and for the contributions you have made to your local community.
